InterestsDr. Stevens is a Teacher Educator in the School of the Education and Social Work at TRU. For over ten years, she coordinated the field experiences for Teacher Candidates in the Bachelor of Education program. Presently, she instructs the communication courses, career and health methods, and inclusive education theory and practice at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. She completed a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) program in leadership and disability studies from the University of Calgary.
Research InterestsResearch Interests include:
teacher education, alternate education models, universal design for learning (UDL), inclusive and community-based education, and disability studies. Research methods include Action-based participatory research, hermeneutic phenemenology, Photovoice and arts-infused qualitative methods, inquiry, and mixed methods approaches.

Dr.Stevens has been a faculty at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, BC since 2001.
Dr. Stevens has a keen interest in curriculum and program development for children, youth and adults with exceptionalities; and is an advocate for improving the quality of life for individuals with diverse abilities and their families.
