InterestsMy interests include teaching students in the classroom and supporting their knowledge, skills and abilities to work with individuals with exceptionalities. In my work with the Thompson Cariboo Community Living Council and the Council for Exceptional Children, I advocate and support the need of individuals with special needs.
EducationI have a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Victoria.
Employment HistoryMy career started as a social worker in northern British Columbia in child protection and community living services. I then had the opportunity to work as a policy analyst in Victoria focusing on programs for adults with exceptionalities. Following this, I was involved in private contract work for MCFD and eventually became an instructor at TRU.
Courses TaughtI have taught courses in a number of programs including the certificates in Corrections, Social Service, Community and School Support and the diploma in Human Service. My areas of interest include behaviour support, exceptionalities and professional human service practice.
